Nelson Cunningham, President and Co-Founder, McLarty Associates

 
Nelson Cunningham first worked for Joe Biden over two decades ago, when he came to Washington to serve as Biden's General Counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Over the past year, Nelson has been deeply involved in the Biden campaign, serving as an outside advisor on trade and foreign policy issues. He served on the Obama-Biden transition team in 2008 and has also advised every Democratic presidential campaign since 2004 on foreign policy and trade matters. 
 
Prior to co-founding McLarty Associates in 1998, Mr. Cunningham served in the White House as Special Advisor to President Clinton on Western Hemisphere affairs and as General Counsel at the White House Office of Administration. Nelson Cunningham holds a B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from Stanford University.

 Amb. Rick Burt, Managing Partner and Eurasia Director, McLarty Associates

Amb. Rick Burt was a political appointee in senior foreign policy roles in the Reagan and George HW Bush administrations.  He served as US Ambassador to Germany and Assistant Secretary of State for Europe under President Ronald Reagan, and under  President George H.W. Bush was chief negotiator for the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START I) between the United States and the Soviet Union.  Later, Ambassador Burt was a top national security advisor to John McCain's 2000 and 2008 presidential campaigns. He was also a one-time advisor to Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign. 
 
Amb. Burt also worked for a decade with McKinsey, and early in his career was a New York Times reporter.  He holds a B.A. from Cornell University and an M.A. from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.
