ACCJ VIEWPOINTS - THE CHAMBER'S OFFICIAL POSITION

ACCJ Viewpoints are the core products of ACCJ Advocacy. An ACCJ Viewpoint is a brief paper, generated by a committee, that expresses the Chamber's official position on a specific issue. Viewpoints are primarily used to express opinions on current policies, policies under consideration by the Japanese and/or U.S. governments, and policies under discussion in bilateral or multilateral forums. They are also used to raise new concerns about issues not currently on stakeholders' agendas.

ACCJ WHITE PAPERS - THE CHAMBER'S OFFICIAL POSITION IN DETAIL

Consistent advocacy in support of positive change to the business environment in Japan is an integral part of the Chamber's operations. One way in which the Chamber achieves this is by producing White Papers on topics relevant to the current business landscape.

ACCJ White Papers are extended documents expressing in detail the Chamber's official position on a specific issue or on a broad range of issues. White papers are often the combined product of multiple committees or task forces.

ACCJ PUBLIC COMMENTS ON
PROPOSED POLICY CHANGES

The ACCJ keeps a close watch on regulatory developments affecting member business interests and offers specific comments and recommendations on draft laws, ordinances, and policy reports through the Japanese government's public notification and comment system.

The system allows interested parties such as individuals, companies, and organizations to provide their written comments on proposed policy changes before they become law. ACCJ committees closely monitor ministry websites, coordinate the comment submission process, work with the ACCJ staff to arrange meetings between ACCJ members and government representatives, and track issues throughout the policy process.
