ACCJ CHUBU

The Chubu region, encompassing Aichi, Gifu and Mie prefectures, is home to the business center of Nagoya in central Japan. Japan's main manufacturing center, the Chubu region accounts for a major portion of the nation's economy and offers unique potential for American and other international enterprise. The local chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) stands out as the hub for Nagoya business among the American and greater international communities.

The membership of the ACCJ-Chubu represent some of the most innovative in Nagoya business, including roughly 50% entrepreneurs. Prominent industries in the area such as aerospace, automotive and heavy industry are well-represented among the nearly 150 members.

Six committees actively plan roughly 50 events per year, often working closely with the American Center, the PR section of the U.S. Consulate, to attract world-class speakers on topics relevant to Nagoya business.

Ongoing initiatives of the ACCJ-Chubu include: entrepreneurialism, manufacturing and foreign direct investment (FDI), quality of life, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and diversity.
