The ACCJ welcomes incoming Keidanren Chairman Masakazu Tokura and looks forward to working on our shared goal of ensuring Japan’s economic growth and sustainability.

The ACCJ greatly values our long-standing partnership with Keidanren to strengthen the international business environment in Japan, including realizing net carbon emissions goals by 2050 and the digital transformation of Japanese businesses and government.

We also applaud the appointment of Tomoko Namba, chairman of DeNA Co., Ltd., as Vice Chair of Keidanren as a step towards the government’s goal of achieving 30% women in leadership positions. We encourage Keidanren under Chairman Tokura to maintain the momentum to create a corporate environment that offers equitable opportunities for women and fosters diversity and inclusion.

We thank former Chairman Hiroaki Nakanishi for his dedication and leadership and wish him a speedy recovery.
