Event Overview
Konoike Transport, a global logistics services company, is at the forefront of Japanese companies undertaking a digital transformation of their business. Based on an IT strategy from senior management, Konoike Transport launched a project to move ICT infrastructure to the cloud and enable workstyle innovation that served them well when the Covid-19 state of emergency was announced.
Our presenter, Masaya Sato, was tasked with leading Konoike’s digital transformation as the general manager of the Digital Transformation Promotion Department’s ICT Promotion Division. In 2018, the ICT Promotion Division created a three-year IT strategy that follows Konoike’s 2030 vision to expand their services and overseas business. To meet these goals, Sato created a digital transformation strategy that is changing Konoike’s IT environment drastically to improve the company’s IT infrastructure and employees’ work environment. Almost all the cloud solutions used by Konoike are from US companies, such as OKTA, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, AWS, and others. Sato will present the challenges of shifting a Japanese company from legacy infrastructure and on-premise solutions to a true cloud environment.
Note that while Sato is not a native English speaker, he will be presenting in English with the support of the organizing committee.
