【We are hiring an “Associate Underwriter” in Property / Construction Lines at our Tokyo office!】
Dear candidates,
We are now looking for a highly motivated individual to perform the role of “Associate Underwriter in Property/Construction Lines” based in Japan.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
> Plan and implement strategies to develop new business and achieve GPW target by cooperating with his/her dept. manager and regional team.
> In line with Starr’s underwriting guideline, make decisions to accept, modify or reject insurance applications after scrutiny of all the required studies regarding risk involved.
> Maintain and develop the distribution channels to constantly obtain submissions and renewal businesses.
> Collaborate with the regional/global team and utilize STARR’s best practices for underwriting, product development, and marketing activities
> Adequately handle queries from agencies, brokers and policy holders, and negotiate terms and conditions as necessary.
Qualifications:
> Strong motivation to start/build a career in insurance industry. Insurance background is not required. This position is open to new grads as well as to those having a couple of yrs work experience.
> Communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills in both Japanese/English to build/keep good relationship with stakeholders.
> Experience of corporate sales or underwriting in insurance company is a plus.
Education:
> University graduate or above
