About the Speaker
Royanne Doi recently served as Advisor for Global Legal, Ethics & Compliance at Yamaha Corporation. Prior to Yamaha, she held senior legal positions with major financial institutions in Tokyo - including Prudential Financial, Inc. At the peak, she oversaw more than 200 staff around the world—from North and South America to Asia and Europe. During her tenure as a global ethics officer, PFI was designated one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies in 2015 by the Ethisphere Institute. PFI received the honor multiple times thereafter.
About the Moderator
John Carlson is a passionate market access and health policy leader with more than seven years of experience in the global biopharmaceutical industry. Having begun his career in Washington, DC, Carlson moved to Asia in 2014 and has since worked across corporate strategy and marketing, as well as market access and policy. He currently leads AbbVie’s government affairs team in Japan, working closely with policymakers and trade associations. In addition, he serves as chair of the ACCJ Healthcare Committee and co-chair of the Young Professionals Forum. Before joining AbbVie, he held increasing roles of responsibility for the Japan affiliate of Merck KGaA. He received his master of science in regulatory science, bachelor of science in biochemistry, and bachelor of arts in East Asian languages and cultures from the University of Southern California.
