About the Speaker
Rob Claar has a 30-year history of entrepreneurship including creating over a dozen companies and multiple exits. He is the Co-founder, CEO, and Board Chair of HekaBio K.K., a healthcare investment, development, and commercialization platform that empowers patients by accelerating access to global healthcare innovations in cardiology, neurology, oncology, and ophthalmology.
Rob first came to Japan in 1987, and in 1992, he founded Junicon (now part of Intage Healthcare), Japan’s first specialized healthcare market research consultancy, before then founding Vorpal Technologies K.K., a healthcare consulting firm which was acquired by MCRA, a US-based CRO, in 2022. Rob has also been involved in the foundation and leadership of numerous other ventures and enterprises, including HOPE International Development Agency, an NGO that delivers clean water, education, and microcredit programs to communities in the developing world.
