The Show Must Go On!

The Community Service Advisory Council (CSAC) is appealing to the ACCJ community for support with the project Jett Edwards & Friends present THE SHOW MUST GO ON.

This is a two-fold opportunity to:

  • Help the musicians in our community who have been lost work due to the coronavirus pandemic

  • Provide much-needed, uplifting music and entertainment to active-service US military men and women stationed in Japan who are also suffering and locked down due to Covid-19

There are 23 US military facilities in Japan, so there are plenty of folks who need to hear a good song from home and a heartfelt reminder that they are appreciated and have not been forgotten.

The Concept

THE SHOW MUST GO ON is based on a simple idea: Jett Edwards & Friends will use local musicians to produce high-quality musical entertainment for broadcast by our military friends. These virtual concerts can be shown on American Forces Network television, viewed on demand, and, in some cases, used as part of the outdoor drive-in movie events that some bases are organizing on open aircraft runways to maintain social distancing while bringing some fun to lockdown life.

The first installment, the MOTOWN & SOUL MUSIC REVIEW, will feature Americana, Country, Blues and Southern Gospel, with artists Jett Edwards, Rambling Steve Gardner, Felix Sonnyboy, the members of the MOTOWN & SOUL MUSIC REVIEW, the Believers Today Southern Gospel Choir, and more!

We have plans to produce several more programs this year.

How to Support

We hope that you will consider being a part of THE SHOW MUST GO ON project to lift the spirits of the men and women serving in Japan while providing opportunities for as many members of our music community as possible.

Here’s to working together to get the job done!
