Hurricane Helene: Disaster Relief Information

Last week, Hurricane Helene brought catastrophic destruction and significant loss of life, marking it as the strongest hurricane on record to strike Florida’s Big Bend region and the deadliest in the U.S. mainland since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Hurricane Helene's Impact
The hurricane has tragically claimed at least 130 lives across six states, with the death toll expected to rise as many remain missing. Widespread damage to infrastructure has left hundreds of roads closed, particularly in the Carolinas, and disrupted communication, leaving families unable to reach loved ones. Over two million people are still without power, further complicating rescue and relief efforts.

Below are a few resources (not exclusive; there are many groups) that ACCJ members might want to contact on their own.

If ACCJ members have additional ideas about relief efforts, then please let the Community Service Advisory Council know via email to Frank Packard.
