Technology Series第三段では、イギリスよりグローバル・ブレイン株式会社の上前田直樹氏をお招きし、「最新のAI技術の織りなす世界」をテーマにお届けします。

ディープラーニング技術の発達とともに注目を集めているAI/Machine Learning技術ですが、徐々に実際の産業・商品への導入へが進んでおり、様々な分野での活用が進んでいます。そういう状況の中、グローバルブレインでは引き続き最先端のAI技術・アプリケーションへの投資を加速させています。

本セッションでは、次のような項目についてお話し頂きます。

·      最新のスタートアップのエコシステムの状況

·      各国ごとの投資状況

·      今後さらに注目を集めていくであろう領域、その中でグローバルブレインとしてやろうとしていること

投資の実例としてはAIを使って希少疾患の新しい治療法を探るスタートアップであるHealxについてご紹介します。また、キャリアとして、なぜエンジニアからVCというキャリアを選んだのか、という点もざっくばらんにお話し頂きます。

For the third session in our Technology Series, we are pleased to welcome Mr. Naoki Kamimaeda, Partner and Europe Office Representative at Global Brain in the U.K.

Deep learning technology, a subset of A.I. and Machine learning, has been garnering significant attention and is already utilized in key industries and products. Recognizing the great potential of this technology, Global Brain has accelerated investment in the latest A.I. technologies and applications.

In this webinar, Mr. Kamimaeda will share his insights on:

·      The A.I. start-up ecosystem

·      A.I. investments by region

·      Global Brain’s business plan and future focus areas 

Mr. Kamimaeda will present a case study based on startup Healx, which is utilizing A.I. to explore new treatment for rare diseases. He will also share the story of his career path from engineer to Venture Capitalist.

[About the Speaker ]

グローバルブレインのパートナー、欧州オフィス代表で、欧州・イスラエルの投資業務全般の責任者。主な投資対象領域として、AI, クラウド、サイバーセキュリティ、フィンテックの領域のスタートアップに注力。ソニー、Sony Network Entertainment Int’l (米国)を経て、Global Brain参画。ソニーでは、ソフトウェアエンジニアとして、AI・Big Data技術の研究開発および、VAIOやPlayStationなどへの事業適用をリード。ソニーでの最後の2年はサンフランシスコに赴任し、PlayStation 4のLaunch Teamの一員として、PlayStation Networkのシステム開発など広範な業務に従事。

Mr. Kamimaeda is a Partner and Europe Office Representative at Global Brain and is responsible for Europe and Israeli investments. Global Brain's primary focus of investments in Europe are AI, cloud, cyber security, and fintech. Prior to joining Global Brain, Mr. Kamimaeda worked for Sony as a software engineer specialized in AI/ML and Big Data technologies. For the last 2 years of his Sony career, he worked in San Francisco as a software engineering manager of PlayStation Network and a member of the PlayStation 4 Launch Team.
