The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan marks our 75th anniversary this year, and our commitment to nurturing and improving global business in Japan, and helping those who support and protect our community, has never been stronger.

The West Wind High Rollers
A horn-based quintet led by Marcus Pittman, the West Wind High Rollers features some of Tokyo’s finest all-around musicians. The group takes pride in its repertoire of instrumental arrangements of popular blues and jazz favorites from the 1940s, ’50s, and ’60s. You can hear the West Wind High Rollers at the lobby reception for this year’s 75th ACCJ Charity Ball celebration.

Marcus Pittman & the High Roller Horns, featuring the Q Factor G.N.P., will bring big-horn sounds, big grooves, and your favorite tunes all wrapped in a pack of celebrations and fun! Travel through time with the band as they touch on musical highlights that have left an impact on the past 75 years. Be sure to tie your dancing shoes tight. This year’s ACCJ Charity Ball promises to be the best yet!

Wariki was founded with the vision of uniting individual musicians, performers, and composers through the rich tapestry of traditional music and performing arts. Their mission is to create and deliver exceptional productions that resonate with audiences worldwide, showcasing the beauty and diversity of their cultural heritage.
At the heart of Wariki are three exceptionally talented and passionate artists:
1. Akira Katogi (Drummer, Dancer, Dai-do-gei Traditional Japanese Street Performer): Akira brings the rhythmic heartbeat to Wariki, infusing our performances with the energy of traditional Japanese drumming and the artistry of dance. His expertise in Dai-do-gei adds a unique and captivating street performance element to our productions.
2. Shunsuke Kimura (Japanese Flute and Tsugaru-shamisen Player, Composer, Music Director):Shunsuke is the soulful melody weaver of Wariki, enchanting audiences with the evocative sounds of the Japanese flute and the soul-stirring resonance of the Tsugaru-shamisen. As our music director and composer, he shapes the artistic direction of our productions, ensuring a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation.
3. Etsuro On (Shamisen Player and Composer): Etsuro's mastery of the shamisen, coupled with his talent for composition, adds depth and emotion to Wariki's performances. His intricate and soulful playing transports audiences to the heart of traditional Japanese music, creating an immersive experience that lingers in the hearts of those who witness it.
Together, the members of Wariki strive to transcend cultural boundaries, creating a global resonance that celebrates the beauty of tradition while embracing the spirit of innovation. Through their collaborative efforts, they aim to inspire and connect people from all walks of life, fostering a deep appreciation for the rich legacy of Japanese music and performing arts.
