Support Ukrainian Refugees with The Nippon Foundation

The Nippon Foundation is Japan's largest charitable foundation, and has been engaged in public interest activities in Japan and abroad for almost 60 years. We have been engaged in the fields of social welfare, education, culture, maritime affairs, shipping, overseas humanitarian activities, and human resource development in Japan.
We have also begun providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Ukraine, who have suffered tremendous damage as a result of the invasion of Russia in February 2022, and we are providing support both in Japan and abroad.
Among them, more than 1,500 Ukrainian refugees have already entered Japan. Some of them are beginning to consider living in Japan for the long term in the future.
On June 13, the Nippon Foundation, together with U.S. Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel and Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan Korsunsky, launched the Ukrainian Displaced Persons Support Fund to extend a welcome to these Ukrainians who have come to Japan to make every evacuee feel at home in Japan. In order to support them, we have started accepting donations. We hope that as many people as possible who live in Japan will participate in this project to extend a warm welcome to the evacuees.

2022年2月のロシア侵攻により、甚大な被害を受けているウクライナの方々の人道支援も開始し、国 内外での支援を行っております。
その中でも、日本国内では既に1,500人を超えるウクライナ避難民の方が入国しております。終わら ない戦禍を目の当たりにし、一部の方は今後も長期的に日本で生きていくことを考え始めている状 況です。
日本財団は6月13日に、エマニュアル駐日米国大使、コルスンスキー駐日ウクライナ大使と共にウク ライナ避難民支援基金を立上げ、このように「故郷から遠く離れている間でも、避難民一人一人が日 本でくつろげるように」来日したウクライナの方々へ、歓迎の気持ちを届けるための支援のため、寄 付の募集を行っております。日本に住んでいる方1人でも多くの方々に参加していただき、歓迎の気 持ちを届けてまいりたいと考えております。
